Constrained realizations of 2MRS density and peculiar velocity fields: growth rate and local flow

ABSTRACT We generate constrained realizations (CRs) of the density and peculiar velocity fields within $200 \, h^{-1} \mathrm{Mpc}$ from final release Two-Micron All-Sky Redshift Survey (2MRS) – densest all-sky redshift survey to date. The CRs are generated by combining a Wiener filter estimator in spherical Fourier-Bessel space with random log-normally distributed Poisson-sampled galaxy positions. algorithm is tested calibrated on set semi-analytic mock catalogues mimicking environment Local Group (LG), rigorously account for statistical systematic errors reconstruction method. By comparing our observed velocities Cosmicflows-3 catalogue, we constrain normalized linear growth rate $f \sigma _8^{\text{lin}}= 0.367 \pm 0.060$, which consistent at 1.1? level latest Planck results as well other direct probes. Simultaneously, estimate bulk flow contribution sources beyond 2MRS volume $B^{\text{ext}}= 199 68 \mathrm{km} \mathrm{s}^{-1}$ towards l = 299 ± 18°, b 8 19°. total reconstructed field position LG, smoothed $1 Gaussian, $685 75 270.6 6.6°, 35.5 7.2°, good agreement CMB dipole. different radii compatible measurements. Within $50 Gaussian window find $274 50 287 9°, 11 10°. code used obtain these results, dubbed coras, made publicly available.
